How to create quality website content

Flutter app development for multi-platform compatibility

Go old school

Forget about the keyboard, grab a pen and paper and write down your main ideas (or grab a digital note pad device to make transferring easier later on). This physical process engages different parts of your brain and produces more authentic writing.

Using Word (or other software like it) to spell check

Many copy-writing software’s can automatically change to English USA and if you don’t change to UK it might miss these grammar checks:

UK grammar essentials

  • Use ‘-ise’ not ‘-ize’ (organise, specialise)
  • Use ‘-re’ not ‘-er’ (centre, theatre)
  • Include the ‘u’ in words like colour, favour, humour
  • Single quotation marks for quotes: ‘like this’
  • Date format: 10 April 2025
  • Write numbers up to ten as words

Structure for humans, not search engines

  • Create a logical flow that answers reader questions
  • Use headings that make sense to people, not keyword-stuffed phrases
  • Break up content with subheadings every 100-150 words
  • Keep paragraphs short (2-3 sentences maximum)

Add your unique perspective

  • Include personal anecdotes and experiences
  • Reference conversations you’ve had with customers or colleagues
  • Share your original insights and opinions
  • Explain why you disagree with common advice in your field

Write first, add the SEO later

  • Draft your content without thinking about SEO
  • After completing your draft, identify places to naturally incorporate keywords
  • Never sacrifice readability for keyword density

Edit ruthlessly

  • Cut all unnecessary words and phrases
  • Replace corporate jargon with plain English
  • Remove generic statements that don’t add value
  • Read aloud to catch awkward phrasing

Non-AI proof-reading methods

  • Print your content and edit with a red pen
  • Read your content to catch spelling errors
  • Ask a colleague to review your writing
  • Wait 24 hours before final edits for fresh perspective

Human touches AI can’t replicate

  • Reference current events not in AI training data
  • Mention personal experiences specific to your location
  • Include industry insights from recent conversations
  • Share unconventional opinions or approaches

Remember: authentic content builds trust. Website visitors can sense when content is genuine. Your unique voice and perspective are your greatest assets in standing out from AI-generated material.
